|-9| means the absolute value of -9 which is 9

so we have 9 - 9 = 0 (answer)

Hello!

So first lets talk about the absolute value. When there is a true value sign and that number inside of the the value sign is negative then the number become a regular number instead of being negative.

So the equation actually looks like 9 - 9 now. So your answer is 0.
