Word problem:

I have 1/2 of a cake left over from my birthday party. If I want to share it with 3 friends, how much of the cake does everyone get?

Solving:

1/2 / 3

[tex]\frac{1}{2} * \frac{1}{3}[/tex]

[tex]\frac{1}{6}[/tex]

Everyone will get [tex]\frac{1}{6}[/tex] of the cake.

Have a nice day!
